Little Rascals

Little Rascals

The Little Rascal Program is a specialized program for children who are entering kindergarten. It is structured for your child to have fun while learning. The Little Rascals engage in anything from playing, singing, drawing, learning to build with legos, getting lost in a book and learning how to sound out their letters. Rascals enjoy their day in their own space where they get to play and do homework and interact with many friends.

Sight Word of the Day

Every day the Little Rascals practice their sight word of the day. They learn a new word that they are or will learn in their own kindergarten class. We start out by sounding out the letters to the word and practicing our writing and sentence making as well with the new word of the day.

Power Hour

Monday through Thursday the little rascals spend 45 minutes getting extra help with their homework and for those without homework are provided extra practice to sharpen their reading, writing, and math skills

Triple Play

The Little Rascals participate in fun, exciting exercises that make them want to keep moving. Rascals participate in “Just Dance” activities with popular kid friendly songs that they can move and groove to. They stretch and relax with themed yoga whether it’s going under the sea or having a space adventure. Our Rascals keep up their heart rates to fun and exciting activities!

PBS Kids with iPads

During iPad time rascals get to learn with interactive games that PBS kids SoCal has provided for them. During special events characters like Clifford the big red dog and Dr. Seuss will stop by and say hello to our kiddos.

STEAM Friday’s

Every Friday we create projects related to Science, technology, engineering, art or mathematics. PBS has provided the little rascal program with opportunities to use their iPads, Spheros robots, and other STEAM lesson plans to help broaden the little rascals’ curious minds.

Sign Language Club

Each week the little rascals are introduced to new words or phrases in American sign language. Learning sign language at this age has been shown to promote learning new English vocabulary, fine and gross motor movement, and memory retention. From simple lesion to ABC’s and Colors to learning silly songs, this keeps our Rascals interested and ready to learn!
